Theresa is a Kent State student who is majoring in Newspaper Journalism and Psychology with a minor in Business. She has a variety of interests such as geocaching, terracaching, postcrossing and participating in the Gravestone Project, a citizen science project managed by EarthTrek. She also has a few “normal” interests such as camping, reading and blogging. Oh yes, and she NEVER stays in one place for too long. She loves to travel and is always ready to experience something new.
Theresa got into geocaching when her friend CharlesIsland bugged her endlessly to try JUST ONE. She did and was immediately hooked. She has been caching since April 2007, and you can view her stats by clicking here.
Theresa started geocaching under the name tedwards2519. However, other cachers often thought it was “ted”wards2519 and that got pretty annoying. Her first geocache ever placed was Muggles Don’t Scare Me! because it’s located in a sometimes high-muggle area. She thought that would be a pretty cool geocaching name and became mugglesdontscareme in July 2008.
Theresa discovered Terracaching while browsing the Web for Geocaching Web sites. The Terracaching Web site claimed its caches were “quality” caches and in order to figure out what that meant, she decided to give it a go.
The first Terracache she ever found seemed like a standard geocache. There wasn’t much special about it. As she browsed the site more and tried a few more caches, she determined that the Terracaching Web site is really just a geocaching alternative. Terracaching still allows virtual caches to be placed whereas the Geocaching Web site does not.

Theresa learned of Postcrossing from _ErikaJean_ on Twitter and joined in May 2009. Postcrossing is a global project in which strangers receive postcards from strangers. Users request a random address and send a postcard. When the recipient receives the card and registers it, the sender will then be able to receive postcards from others.
